raindrops
Clouds
gather over head, darkening skies
quiet
fills the land, peaceful and unmoving
as
the earth waits, in anticipation ,
winds
cease to move, playful breezes no more
suns
smiles its last smile upon the earth
curtain
of clouds close across springs blue skies
trickling
of streams bubbling waters talk to me
as
I sit on the riverbank, watching towering clouds
in the distance, rumbling
of thunder, flashes of light
rain storm coming,
cleansing of the air
and still I sit and wait,
content, peaceful
blade of grass moves, spot
upon rock
splash on streams drifting
waters
hold out my hand and yes,
oh yes, I feel
teardrop of the angels has
fallen to me
and the heavens open wide,
releasing the raindrops
laughing as they fall, I
sit as all around me
splashes land, and grass
does dance freely
each, a little
crystal teardrop of joy for earth
lightening archs across
the sky, brightly
siliently I wait, counting
softly
thunders pounding roar
fills my ears
scream, I do, in defiance
of natures might
puny voice against that of
giants
laughing madly, I spin
around and round
enjoying raindrops galore
sounds of tin shed roofs
echoing
flooding the land with
moisture
torrential downpour and I
am soaked to skin
shirt hangs limply and so
I giggle freely
kneeling in wet grass,
mouth open
madly, trying to catch
raindrops
nothing matters to me
anymore
for a short time I am
nature and nature is me
for it is a time to
rejoice, drought has broken
autumns first rain falls
