the love of a cat

 

My four legged friend, i love you

you always are there with me

you are my angel in a fur coat

and i love it when you are around

 

you talk to me in your special way

purring loudly and deeply as you do

in that awesome way you have

of saying that you love me

 

your eyes shine brightly, full of life

and a mischievous look in them too

ears straight up and sitting forward

yeah, i wanna play too

 

a ball of string, oh such cool fun

racing madly around the room

dodging table legs and door frames

skillfully as you do

 

laying in the sun, a picture of content

the world can past you by now

for you are sleep, and care not

til time for a mad wash then sleep again

 

ahhh food, you act like you never get fed

meowing with all of your might

til somebody hears and comes

then with a full gut, time to snooze

 

at last it is night time and you are on the prowl

the neighbourhood your playground

strutting over gardens and through lawns

for you are lord of all you see

 

i love you, pussy cat, you four legged fiend

king of the house, ruler with a fur paw

my angel in his fur cloak, regal you be

side by side, two cats in love ,you and me
