Up
The Leaves Still Fall

Summers over now, autumm bids greetings
chill breezes wandering the earth
sunsets of blazing auras in dusk skies
as a phoenix dying moments in flames
funeral pyre of summer skies

mountains stream trickles by my feet
from misty peaks down they flow
home of eagles soaring grace
pass wolves pack roaming free
to oceans shores of sand and rock

winters cold cape comes soon
here to cloak the land with chills and ice
flower bide farewell to the light
and nature returns to earths bed
quietly the world closes down

birds fly across land and seas now
warmth to which they do travel
animals in barrows deep in the ground
harvests reaped for colder months
hibernation time for the child of the earth

clouds gather overhead, dark and foreboding
harbringer of winters fury and power
rain storms on the horizons
misty breath upon my lips now
hazy and speaking of chills coming

and above my head, trees and branches
release their bounty of colours and hues
like a rainbow of life, drifting down
teardrops of dying leaves do fall
as summer is bide farewell
