The following exercise is
a tool to release unresolved issues and forgiveness. It can be used to
meet with those in body, as well as with those in spirit. I also use it to
meet with the parts of myself that are in conflict.
While doing the exercise
remember you can only choose for yourself and that it's about your healing.
You cannot force another to meet you on the bridge, nor can you choose their
reaction, so let it be whatever it is, and know that you have chosen
healing.
The Exercise:
Picture a bridge. This is
your bridge, it can look just like one in the physical world, or it can be
anything of your creation. It can be any length you choose, and it can span
any place you choose, water, roadway, even a ditch.
See yourself at one end of
the bridge and the one with whom you desire resolution on the other end.
Invite that one to join you in the middle of the bridge. Be aware that
joining you there is their choice. On rare occasion the other will not meet
you there and that's ok, you go to the center of the bridge anyway.
Once in the center of the
bridge speak your mind. Try to do so without judgement, releaseing your
feelings and emotions to the bridge. You are not using them as a weapon on
the other, but as a tool so that you might be heard. Ask for a resolution
and offer forgiveness for whatever part you have played in the issue at
hand. Allow the other to respond and don't direct it, just allow.
When you are through leave
the issue at the bridge, knowing that it is being released and transmuted
into something useful.
If you are meeting with
someone who has passed into spirit, know that you might invite them to the
bridge at any time, for any purpose. (It's a great place to say hello!)
In the time that follows
pay attention to relationship with the one whom you met. It will change.
Even if they did not interact on the bridge, the healing has occurred within
you.
